Ex-Eagles Star Chris Nwosu on the 'Art of Africa'

Former Super Star player Christopher Nwosu many Nigerian soccer fans would remember him scored a fantastic goal goal against Czechs 87,Flying Eagles in Saudi 89. He was also a member of the Golden Eaglet in Canada. His last match for Nigeria was with the Super Eagles against Ivory Coast in Abidjan for WOrld cup Qualification (USA 94) under Coach Clemence Westerhof.

A prophet they say is known at home and as such Christopher Nwosu may have been forgetton  by the Football Authorities back in Nigeria for oustanding performances at both the junior and senior levels of football for the country, but he's well known here in Belgium especially in the Limburg pronvince for his contribution towards the developement of youth clubs.

Nigeriasports.com's Europe correspondence Michael Oyelowo who recently trailed him to his Belgium country home for chat, and barely caught up with him just as he was on his way for his team's training. Excepts below;

CHRIS- Hey Michael, you could make it!You arewelcome!

Nigeriasports.com -(I entered a well furnished living room from theback and in front of the house,i could see a verybeautiful and well decorated green lawn) What a niceplace!

CHRIS- Thanks!

Nigeriasports.com: (He showed me the way to his Dinning/Kitchen)thebreakfast is ready?  CHRIS- yeah, its just coffee and toasted bread.  (After 5min,he started)

CHRIS-So what does nigeriasport.com have for me?

Nigeriasports.com: Its been a long time people heard about you in Nigeria and Nigeria Sports fans around the World like to read about their ex and present stars, they want to know how you are doing.

CHRIS- Am ok as you can see!(He smiled)

Nigeriasports.com: You are really doing good here as I can see and I've read a lot about you in the Limburg news on your contributing to the developement of their youth clubs,  I believe you can also do the same for Nigeria or is it because you have Belgium nationality?

CHRIS- Nigeria s my first home, if I have Belgium nationality does not mean that I should forget my real home.

Nigeriasports.com: What are your plans for  Nigeria?

CHRIS- I really like to contribute and help Nigerian  upcoming stars, only if am giving the chance by the NFA or Sport Ministry, but its easier for Nigerian sports association to forget their stars, I dont really understand this, but am trying in connecting some of Nigerian players with some managers and clubs here in Europe,am not saying am managing players but I can try to connect.

Nigeriasports.com:  We heard that you organises some programmes here with some of Nigerian ex players.

CHRIS- its true, its call "ART OF AFRICA",its not only for the Nigerians ,its for all Africans here in Europe,we organises some tournaments within ourselves and sometimes sit together to think of how we can help sports and soccer developement in Africa. We also help some european based African players that are going through some difficulties.

Nigeriasports.com: What do you think about our National teams?

CHRIS- For now I think that NFA choosed the right people for these jobs,i dont know much about the eaglets, but i think COACH Christian Chukwu and Samson Siasia are good for the position giving to them, they have the experience and strong enough to lead these teams(Super Eagles and the Flying eagles)i know Augustine Eguavoen is also good. NFA should just give them the chance to do the work without interupting and forcing players on them.

Nigeriasports.com: I hope that you can be part this new generation of Nigeria trainers with Europe exposure and experience.

"Chris

CHRIS- If NFA give me the chance am ready at anytime to serve my country,I love my country, even though Ihave Belgian Nationality I still love to work for my real land.

Nigeriasports.com-(He was looking at the clock) I dont want to waste your time cos i know you have to go to your team training ,but its nice talking to you.

CHRIS- Thanks Michael,my greetings to all sports readers and the Nigerian sports. com.

Hey,nigeria sport.com,you are trying a lot, where did you found this guy and how? i remember this C.Nwosu,he was one of my favourite nigerian players... And it's true Nigeria NFA or sport associations can easily forget their heroes. Keep it up Nigeria sport.com,tell them(NFA).... let them know that guys like this still have the love of their country on their minds and they want to help in developing african soccer home and abroad, they are better than some political sports administrators that do not know anything about soccer.
