NTF invites players ahead African Championship Some of the players are Sunday Emmanuel, Samuel Amaele, Sunny Adamu, Blessing Samuel and Nneka Okoro among others. Segun Oguntade, NTF's secretary, said the championship is a yearly event, which would afford the players the opportunity to get more points and also be ranked. Oguntade said that the players' performance in the Heinekens Futures last year was a great improvement. His words: " Nigerian players are improving greatly and for one of them to feature in the final of last year's Heineken open revealed the growing standard of the game. It never happened in the last four years." He said the president of NTF, Sanni Ndanusa, has helped the players greatly, as the International Tennis Federation (ITF) now ranks some of them. Speaking further, Oguntade stressed that Nigeria needs to have four good players if it hopes to excel in world tennis.
