Vmobile Polo tournament gets underway in PH

This event, which is the only Nigerian Polo Association (NPA) certified polo tournament in the South-South and South East zones, always starts polo season in the country. With all the activities put in place, the fiesta promises to be filled with classic polo action as leading clubs and players in Nigeria have indicated their intention to participate in the annual polo fiesta. So far, teams from nine States have perfected arrangements to start moving to Port Harcourt. 

Leading the pack is the defending champion, Adamu Atta’s Kaduna 5th Chukker, while Kaduna Trappco would be joining others this year to slug it out for the prizes up for grabs. A number of clubs are turning in teams from nine States for high and medium goals categories, which include General Hassan Cup and Danjuma Cup.

According to  the Vmobile Nigeria HOD, Events, Sponsorship and PRObinna Ariwodo, " arrangements have been concluded for the successful hosting of the champioship, adding that, Vmobile’s key interest in the tournament as in others the company is involved in is the development of sports and the game of polo in particular.

Other polo tournaments sponsored by the leading telecommunication company include: Ibadan Polo Challenge, Abraka polo tourney and 5th Chukker-organised African Masters International Polo.
