KUNG-FU to be a scoring event
AS party its effort to have a fulfilling year, the Nigeria Kung-fu Federation(NKF) has release its programme of activities for the year in which all affiliated bodies including the Armed Forces, States, Police and Para-military will commence registration at the National Secretariat, Lagos
In a chat with nigeriasports.com, the president of the Nigeria Kung-fu Federation Adelusi Ojo said that the 3rd Armed Forces and Police technical course will take place in Kaduna, while the World Cup Martial Art championship is billed for April in Germany and the maiden edition of the Para-military technical Workshop and officiating course is scheduled for May in Lagos. Adelusi maintained that other activies lined up for the year include the 6th NKF National Open Championship billed to take place in Enugu, also, the maiden edition of the under 18 Unification kung-fu championship, while the 2nd Grand International Wushu Festival will be held in Poland and the National Judge Course will come up in September in Bauchi. He further stressed that seminar and workshop will be held for Nigeria Journalist covering the sport, to educate them on Kung-fu and also on the difference between Kung-fu, Karate, Taekwondo and Martial Arts . Meanwhile, he further stressed that Kung-fu would be featuring as a scoring game at the 15th edition of the National Sports Festival tagged Gateway 2006 which will be hosted by Ogun State. "Kung-fu has featured in three past editions of the National Sports Festival and hoped that the sport will be a scoring game in the next edition which will be hosted by Ogun State next year, adding that there about 134 medals up for grab in the sport if finally becomes a scoring event at the National Sports Festival and subsequent editions, Adelusi told nigeriasports.com ".
