Eguma leaves Enyimba for bigger Challenge

Stanley Eguma
Former Assistant Coach of Enyimba FC of Aba, Stanley Eguma has told nigeriasports.com that he left Enyimba at the end of his six month contract with the club because he wanted a bigger challenge in the 2005 football season.

Eguma told nigeriasports.com that against what people think he was not sacked by the Caf Champions league title holders.

“I joined Enyimba from Gabros in the middle of last year and it was just for six months with the option of a renewal, but I thought better at the end of it all,” Eguma said.

According to him, Enyimba did well since he joined that club as they rose from a precarious position in the league and ended at second position while they went on the win the Champions league.

“At the end of the season I thought I could move to something bigger, since I was just an assistant coach with the club and I hope I will get something by the time the new season starts.”

Sharks, Dolphin not options

Eguma however, ruled out a return to Port Harcourt with either Sharks or dolphin.

“I have not made contact with either Sharks or Dolphin so nobody should even spread that rumour I will be returning to Port Harcourt.”

“The Lobi deal also did not go through because at the time they came to me, I was still under contract with Enyimba, besides we could not arrive at any terms so they went for Tunde Disu.”

Stanley Eguma however reiterated that he had no problems with Enyimba but merely did not renew his contract after it expired.

Its a pity, the Pillar of the house is leaving when he is needed most.To me and other Enyimba fans, the exit of Coach Extra Ordinary Stan Eguma is not a happy news at all.We knew very well the magic he performed with the Elephants last yearIts true he is just answering the assist coach, but he is the man behind the sweet victories recorded by Enyi last season.I'm not trying to relegate Emordi, but those who watch Enyi in their trainings will know that i'm saying the truth.Eguma is a good good by all standards and i believe the NFA (NFF?) will call him up to handle the Nations Under 17 Coach.
I beg Nigeria clubs to desist from hiring and sacking local coaches as if they have contacted Leprousy.
You are a Gem Coach Eguma and GOD will surelly lift you to a greater height in ur coaching career in JESUS MIGHTY name, AMENNNNN!!!
Finally, as Iwuanyanwu Nationale has lost their two Coaches to other clubs, i sincerely advice them to go for Coach Stanley Eguma..the man with a middass touch!
