Sunshine Ready for 2005 League Season
The Akure Sunshine Football Club of Akure has put every thing in place for their kick off in the 2005 Globacom Premier League scheduled to start across the country on the February 12th.
Speaking with nigeriasports in Port Harcourt, Director of Technical Ola Lekumi disclosed that the state government has done it best to make sure the players are well prepared for their take off in the 2005 league season.
According to him, new Club Management has been set in place to prepare the team for the new season. He confirmed that ten new players were also signed into the team while 30 old ones were retained for the season. ‘We have new technical management has been set up recently to build the players, we have also signed new talented players to beef the team as well. As am talking with you now we did not lose any of our old players and with this I don’t see us doing bad this season,’ he said. Lekomi noted that they would do everything possible to make sure they return to their glorious past when the premier league begins next year. Speaking on the abolishment of Degree 101, he stated that it’s another way of taking Nigeria Football forward. ‘There is nothing there to hide again, degree 101 has never helped our football in the past so I think its time for it to go and let our football develop,’ he said.
