Esperance snap up Nwaneri

Obinna Nwaneri
Enyimba's Obinna Nwaneri looks set to sign for reigning Tunisian champions Esperance on Friday.

Esperance's newly appointed director of football Zied Tlemçani confirmed the move to BBC Sport.

"Obinna Nwaneri should be signing for us tomorrow," he told BBC Sport on Thursday.

"I'm not in a position to give you any other details at the moment."

Nwaneri captained Enyimba to victory in the second leg of the African Champions League final against Etoile Sahel in Abuja on Sunday.

The defender also scored the decisive spot-kick in the penalty shoot out that secured the Nigerian side a second Champions League title.

Nwaneri will join his compatriot Moses Ayuba at Esperance.

Enyimba president Felix Anyansi-Agwu admitted on Monday that up to eight players look set to leave the club but that he was already plans to replace them.

Another Enyimba star ready to leave is goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama who told BBC Sport on Wednesday that several clubs were keen to sign him.
