Anumunu goes AWOL

Anumnu (right) is unhappy with Enyimba's coach
Enyimba striker, Ndidi Anumunu has continued his self-imposed exile as he failed to report to the team's Ota camp in preparation for the crucial second leg of their Caf Champions league game against Esperance of Tunisia.

Enyimba, title holders are locked in a titanic battle to make the final berth after they were forced to a 1-1 draw in Aba, and the second leg tie comes up Sunday, 14 November.

Nigeriasports.com authoratively gathered that the striker who has not featured in two of Enyimba’s major games for undisclosed “logistics” reason decided not to report at the Ota camp in protest for being benched in previous games.

He was expected to arrive the Ota camp Sunday night to commence training with the rest of the squad but Anumunu told nigerisports.com Monday afternoon that coach Emordi refused to give him a starting shirt during their games against African Sports, of Ivory Coast and Esperance in their first leg game.

“There were matches Emordi refused to play me for reasons I don’t know. They lost against African sports, and he went about saying that I was sick while I was not. Again, against Esperance in Aba, he did the same thing and, now they want me to come and perform magic.”

"It is not that I will not play for them anymore, all I’m saying is that they have killed my morale. In any case, I’m not even fit because my mind is no more there and they want me to report to camp,” Anumunu told nigeriasports.com

Speaking on their chances against Esperance in Tunis, Anumunu said they stand a chance to progress if “they play together as a team.”

“If we come together as team, Esperance will not stop us on their home soil because we have better chances. Four of their key players including the goal keeper will not feature on that day so we have an advantage. My advise is that we utilise our chances effectively.” He assured nigeriasports.com he would report to the Ota camp before night fall Monday, with the team expected to leave for Tunis on Wednesday for the game. I HOPE Ndidi Anumunu is not trying to ruin his football career by all these ways he uses to do things many atimes.Infact, i'm really suprised that he has not learnt the simple way of cooling his tempers down.
I want Ndidi to know that his name is patience and he ought to imbibe such into his life.
At this crucial time, Enyimba don't need all these type of complains, rather, teamwork and dedication should prevail so as to come out of the Tunisian encounter victorious.
Ndidi and Coach Emordi, plz for GOD's sake, don't jeopardise the slim chance Enyimba has in this must win encounter.

It is very obvious that things are not really well with the Enyinba team. The team ans family spirit is no longer there. What ever may be the problem, the state government and all those concrn should please see to it that all is resolved before the crucial match. I still have 100% confident that Enyinba will pass through this hurddle. Best of luck guys.

First, I almost bet with my life that Ndidi must be seriously sick or injured hence he missed the last two home games. What some of these players fail to understand is that individually they have their fans who would wish they play every game, irrespective of their health conditions. Ndidi, if you can read this, please, train, travel play with the team to bring our already soaring BPs down. We love you. Prove to your coach that he was wrong in neglecting you in the past matches. That is how it is done overseas. Remember, God takes the praises for your impending victory, you take the glory, we your fans take the honour. Goodluck Enyimba Enyi.
