The Rivers State Sports Commissioner, Allwell Onyesoh had silently presented members of the playing Staff and Technical crew with their cheques on Thursday at his residence but Friday’s ceremony was a more elaborate one. “Last time we met, I told you that this is not a time to talk too much and I have not changed my mind. Now I am here to say once again that I would not talk much,” Governor Odili said to the players. Just go out there next season and do us proud,” Onyesoh charged the players. Amidst chants of ‘you are wonderful’ and ‘you are too much’ the sports commissioner called out names of eligible car owners, asking them to pick whatever colour they wanted. First to pick was Technical Adviser, Musa Abdulahi followed by the Chief Coach, Phillip Boamah and then the Team Manager, Diepreye Fiberesima and Secretary, Fatai Olayinka. Team Captain, Ahmed Abdulrahman and vice captain, Victor Ezeji were next in line before the rest of the players followed suit.
