Enugu Rangers 2-1 Asante Kotoko![]() Ugochukwu Okeke, who came on to the pitch as a 19th minute substitute for Enugu Rangers, did the damage for the home side. Enugu Rangers went ahead in the 20-minute when a goal mouth melee allowed Okeke get the ball to Igho Oteghiri, who fired home. A minute later, Okeke exchanged passes with Omoh, and the return ball was brilliantly converted by the substitute to put the home side into a comfortable 2-0 lead. Kotoko then got back into game in the second half and Charles Taylor halved the lead in the 70th minute. The visitors were unlucky not to get an equaliser with Frank Osei and Nana Arhin among those who missed golden opportunities to grab a goal. "It was a good game, both sides played very well but it was just wasn't our day despite playing extremely well in the second half," Kotoko's German coach, Hans Dieter Schmidt said. Enugu Rangers coach Lawrence Akpokona was less impressed with his side's performance. "We allowed Kotoko to play their game and that nearly cost us, my boys didn't play according to my instructions we are just too lucky to escape with a win today," he said. Enugu now have nine points from their five matches and are two ahead of Kotoko. The result means the group winners will not be decided until the final group games in two weeks time. Asante Kotoko play their final group game at home against Sudan's Al Hilal while Enugu travel to Angola to play Petro Atletico.
