Enyimba stadium banned

Nigerian club Enyimba will not be allowed to stage the second leg of the Champions League final at their Aba ground should they defeat Tunisia's Esperance in the semi-final.

Caf said it took the decision because of concerns over security at the ground and the quality of the pitch.

"If Enyimba reach the finals, they will have to play in Lagos or Abuja," Fahmy confirmed.

The winner of the 2005 Champions League will be Africa's representatives at the 2005 Fifa World Club Championship in Japan.

This means that the Champions League final will be played in November of that year, instead of December, to ensure that Africa's representatives can compete in the Fifa competition.

I hope this new CAF directive against EYIMBA is not a witch hunting exercise? Why should it occur to CAF and their cohorts now that Enyimba Stadium is not fit for CAF Champs League matches after the same pitch hosted the whole of last year games when Enyimba won the cup.Let it not be that some North African men in CAF are not trying to frustrate Enyimba from winning this consecutive cup. Was it not CAF that approved the stadium? Go to every part of Africa where this CAF champs league is played, all the stadia are nothing to write home about.
Plz CAF, for God's sake as far as i've been to the Enyimba Stadium, their is nothing like security problem since the matches started last year and the issue of pitch is nothing but politics against the Nigerian Team.
NFA the ball is in ur court now...never allow CAF to frustrate ENYIMBA of NIGERIA out of this lucrative competition now.

In as much as i don't know why this is coming now i think the pitch in Aba is really bad and Enyimba should be able to do something about it but in the case of security i don't know where they saw the security problem . Instead of name calling i think Enyimba should do what they have to do and lobby early . Besides we are talking of the final so there is time for Enyimba to put things in order and not give CAF any reason to take the final (hopefully they get to it) from Aba .
