Women Committee wants allowances for AWC officials

Welfare Officer, Ann Chiejine left out of the largesse
The Women Football Development Commiittee of the Nigeria Football Association(NFA) has lauded Nigeria’s President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo over the naira rain splashed on members of the Super Falcons over their historic conquest at the 4th African Women Championships in South Africa.

Rising from an emergency meeting in Lagos, the Committee noted that President Obasanjo has
demonstrated a large heart by discarding his infamous handshake policy.

“The President has actually demonstrated that he is a father. He has taken all of us by surprise. That he
has rewarded the girls with cash gifts is an ample testimony that he acknowledges excellence and we hope he will keep it up,” said Alhaja Ayo Omiran, Chairperson of the Committee.

The Committee also called on President Obasanjo to look into the reward of the Super Falcons Coaches
which was withheld pending investigations into the bonus imbrioglio in South Africa.

“We believe that Mr. President knows that but for the Coaches, the girls wouldn’t have won the trophy.

They actually worked night and day to ensure victory for the team and therefore deserve to be amply rewarded.

That is why we are calling on Mr. President as a loving father to please look to the Coaches and reward
them accordingly, ”said Omidiran.
