Rivers Angels, Bayelsa Queens get semi final berth

Rivers Angels Sports Club of Port Harcourt and Bayelsa Queens of Yenagoa on Saturday gained the final two semi final slots in the 2004 female FA Cup, nigeriasports.com reports.

For Rivers Angels it took a replay against hard fighting youngsters, Solid babes of Nasarawa state to pick a semi final ticket.

In the first match played on Friday, Rivers Angels were forced to 1-1 draw by Solid babes but experience dominated over youthfulness in the replay on Saturday morning.

Stella Mbachu’s brace totally killed off whatever fights the girls from Lafia had in them.

“We thank God for this result. We are in the semifinal. Our sights are on the cup and we will just take our time until we get there.” Rivers Angels Chief Coach, Tunde Lawson told nigeriasports.com after the match.

In Ibadan, Bayelsa Queens totally annihilated Remi Queens of Abeokuta 5-2.

Odame Enakeme, drew first blood for Bayelsa while Cameroonian import, Lydienne Njolle made it two.

Gift Otuwe got a brace while Evelyn completed the rout.
