Gabros plan ahead

Despite the suffocating struggle to swim out of the relegation waters last season, the Nnewi based Gabros International FC say it will not buy any big players this season as the team will concentrate on young talented players.

The club currently on screening exercise for the new season threw the camp open but with emphasis on young players while old players will be retained except those willing to leave.

Speaking to nigeriasports.com, at Awka Anambra State the club secretary. Mr Iyke Igbokwe said the club is not crazy for big names but young talents who are willing to make names for themselves.

“In Gabros what we need are players who are ready to work to achieve success not those going down the drain. Most of those players being branded as big players in Nigerian league are those already going down the drain,

“European league or any other league all over the world is interested in young talented players not the so called big players. Gabros is a breeding ground for talents, we don’t poach”.

He however, advised clubs who are interested in Gabros players to go through the official processes and avoid transfer controversy, “because you may think that you have a deal with a player without sealing such deal with the club you will be disappointed as any club that takes officials step will be entertained”.

“At the end of the season, a lot of clubs came swooping on Gabros, but we are keeping our fingers crossed because they have not come to us officially.
