Delta Queens protest officiating in Kaduna

A member of the Delta Queens Technical crew who spoke with nigeriasports.com on the condition of anonymity said he believed that rivals Solid Babes might have used the referees to aid their team to survival in the zone.

“It is not like I am afraid of mentioning my name, but you know how it is in Nigeria. Referees might choose to frustrate you when they think you are exposing them, but you need to have seen our match against Solid babes on Monday.”

In the match in question, Delta Queens scored what looked like good goals, one in the first half through Nkechi Egbe and the other in the second stanza through Maureen Eke.

“We heard that the match officials were well rewarded for a job well done and there is also a grand plan by the officials of Solid babes to ensure that Kogi State does not honour their match against us on Thursday to ensure that Solid qualifies ahead of us for the quarter finals.”

“It is wrong because they just came into the scene and they are trying to use money to destroy female football. Are they trying to say those clubs without money should not play football?”

According to him, Delta Queens will not protest because it is clear that all the officials in this center are clearly for Solid babes.

Chairman of Waheed Queens of Kaduna, Alhaji Waheed told nigeriasports.com that he witnessed the match in Kaduna and he was disappointed at the way the game was handled by the referees.

“I think the referee was biased. They are all planning for Nasarawa to win and it is wrong. I watched the game and it is was not fair at all. Delta should have won that match. The referee frustrated them.”
