Falcons engage NFA Staffers in fight for passports

Nigeriasports.com can report that the players had to physically engage an NFA staff in combat before getting hold of their passports which he refused to release to the girls.

Apparently, Tayo Egbayelo, a secretary with the female football department was acting on orders from the Secretary General of the Association, Taiwo Ogunjobi not to release the players passports which the girls say has never happened before.

"Normally when we return from International competitions like this, our passports are handed over to us so it was starnge this time that Tayo said he could not give them to us because the SG said not to," Oge Onyinanya told nigeriasports.com on saturday morning.

"But its all over now because we eventually got our passports and there was no problem.

However, nigeriasports.com can report that the female football secretary, Tayo refused to release the players' passports ordering them to go to Abuja for their travelling documents.

After much pleas fell on deaf ears, the players seized his bags threatening to hold on to them until he releases their passports.

At this point Tayo was alleged to have sought the services of three thugs to help him recover his bags which resulted in one of them slapping Precious Dede in the process.

"Really there was no fight. We just told the boys Tayo brought that it was none of their business and we just wanted our passports back," One of the players said

"Aside from the fact that they slapped Dede, we recovered the passports so we have forgotten everything and we hold nothing against the NFA or even Tayo.

Most of the players have already joined their clubs for the FA Cup prelimiaries which begins nationwide on sunday afternoon.
