Gombe demands apology from Gombe

Alhaji Ahmed Shuiabu Gara Gombe has threatened he would go to court unless top officials of Gombe United offer apology for insinuating he had a hand in the team’s 7-1 loss to Kano Pillars in the week- 34 of the Premier League on September 25. Nigeriasports.com can report.

Gara Gombe, a former chairman of the team who denied having anything to do with the way Gombe caved in and suffered such scandalous defeat in the hands of Pillars, said even though he was not in Kano during the match, he would come out with facts involving the Gombe officials concerning the match where they failed to offer him an apology.

"I was confronted in Kano by one man I never knew before and who said I he learnt in Gombe I was the one behind the defeat by Kano Pillars. I could not believe it. Further investigation has revealed this is being peddled in the state that I was behind it. I am not. I was not even in Kano to witness the match," he told Nigeriasports.com

"I want a public apology from Gombe officials for even trying to link me with what I do not know about. They must offer me an apology failure of which I would come to the public with facts and figures of what I have come to learn through thorough investigations about what transpired between the officials in Kano during the match. There is no reason whatsoever why they should even involve me," he added.

According to him, the club officials from his investigations are only making such allusions because he Gara Gombe lives and operates his business in Kano.

"But it is something they have clung on to cover their tracks because they have failed the people of Gombe with inappropriate behaviour. And I’m saying they must apologise for ever mentioning my name over something I have no hand in," the former chairman said.

The poor outing in Kano left observers worried as the Gombe side ended the season with 48 points which left them on the eighth spot on the eighteen team log.
