Grassroot football league gets date

The Nigerian Grassroots Football League (NGFL) a project designed by Pryme Sports Organisation, a subsidiary of Pryme Business Centre, for the development of the game of football at grassroots level is in its eight year. Nigeriasports.com can report

According to Patrick O. Akosubo the national coordinator, the league which started in Makurdi, Benue State in 1996 as the Pryme Soccer League and later manifested into Ikeja-Lagos in 2001.

Meanwhile, the 2004 Edition of the league has been expanded and will hold in eight centres. The centres are: Abuja (Champions: Dynamite FC, Durumi), Benin City, Ikeja-Lagos, Kano, Lokoja, Jos, Makurdi and Port Harcourt.
 
At the end of the league matches at the centres, the top sides in the eight centres will converge in Makurdi, Benue State for the first ever "NIGERIAN GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL LEAGUE", from 22nd - 27th March 2005.

The group are in contacts with the Federal Ministries of Sports & Social Development, Inter-Governmental Affairs, Special Duties & Youth Development, and the Government of Benue State, for the successful hosting of "MAKURDI YOUTH FIESTA 2005".
