Nkwocha, Uwak chase golden boot award

The race for the highest goals scorer award in this year's African women championship is likely to be between two free scoring Nigerian players, nigeriasports.com can report.

The golden boot award which has always been a Nigerian property, should still be going to a Falcon player as Perpetua Nkwocha presently leads the goals table with 5 points while team mate, Cynthia Uwak comes in closely behind with 4 goals. The only challenge coming from outside the team is from Anokyewaa Akua of Ghana with 3 goals so far.
Perpetua Nkwocha, the pelican stars of Calabar player, has scored in every match Nigeria has played so far beginning with Algeria and Cameroun where she scored a goal each to the Malian game where she picked up a brace before netting the last of the four strikes which saw Nigeria through to the final with a 4-0 whitewash of Ethiopia.
Cynthia Uwak who didn't score in the first game against Algeria, scored a goal each against Cameroun and Mali before getting a brace against the Ethiopians to take her tally to 4 behind her team mate but she has the edge in terms of assists.
"Am just happy to be scoring while the fact that we are winning gives me more joy. The highest goals scorer award will only be a bonus at the end of the day so am not so bothered about that", Cynthia Uwak disclosed.

Reports by Opatola Adewole, Jo'burg South Africa.

Well good luck girls, just be careful and play the final game with total committment and dedication. Don't in any way underate the Camerounians. They will do everything to frustrate you girls.
Best of luck ones again.

Thank God we got to the final.
Tell the falcons to be ready and prepare for a "more" physical and "rough" battle on the field of play, cos this is the only way to furstrate the Falcons so they can win........
Let the Falcons go out, play good football, hold back your emotion and anger cos they will want to intimidate you with "bad and Wicked" tackling and playing......go for early goals and after you have gotten about 2 or 3 goals...you can pay them back with their coin too by playing hard," leg for leg", "elbow for elbow" dont play soft like "KANU" but go hard like "Amokachi & Eguavoen"
Hope to hear a good news soon............

HELLO JOSLAN,

I HAVE JUST VIEW YOUR COMMENTS UHMMMMMMMMM IT SOUNDS NICE I LOVE WHAT YOU SAY THAT THEY SHOULD FIRST OF ALL GO FOR THE GOALS FIRST B4 PAYING THE CAMEROUNIANS BACK WITH THIER OWN COIN.BCOS IF THEY DON'T THEN THE CAMEROUNIAN MAY LIKEN OVERPOWER THEM.

SO I SUPPORT YOUR MOTION AND THE COMMENTS ASWELL.BUT AS FOR ME IF THE CAMEROUNIAN SHOULD NOT BE CAREFUL THEY WILL GO DOWN AS MANY GOALS AS FOUR.

THANKS LORDSON.
FROM WEST SIDE.
