Falcon's financial woes deepens

ABUJA: There seem to be end in sight to the financial crisis hitting the Falcons currently campaigning in the African Women’s Football Championship holding in South Africa, as the Nigeria Football Association is said to be still searching for funds from various corporate organizations in the country to pay for the teams up keep and winning bonus.

NFA spokesman, Mr Samuel Kaalu was scheduled to travel to Johannesburg this evening with money for the players and the team official, but could not as the football association was still searching for money
Report reaching Nigeriasports.com revealed that the players and officials left for South Africa only with few Naira personal money in their wallets.

Accordingly, moral in the team’s camp is reported to be quite low due to poor financial state of the players and officials. Though the Falcons trounced Algeria by 4 goals to nil in their first game; it’s feared that they may be able to retain the cup if not properly motivated. The Falcon would be meeting Cameroon tomorrow in Johannesburg.
