Falcons orphaned again

The inefficiency of the Nigeria Football Association at handling national teams in international tournaments has reared its ugly head in South Africa at the Africa Women Championships, nigeriasports.com reports.

Reports reaching nigeriasports.com from the Falcons camp show that the welfare of the team may not be of any importance to the NFA board members present with the team.

The team was only issued one set of jerseys, which they used against Cameroon even though they were promised just two sets for the duration of the Championships.

They have also not received any allowances since they arrived South Africa six days ago and do not know what match bonuses are worth or when they will be paid.

This is a far cry from Athens 2004, handled by Team Nigeria where they were paid up front before the Games began.

I don't know when the Authority that set up NFA will learn or know what to do. How can a country like Nigeria went to a competition with just one set of jerseys, no agreement with players entiltements or bonuses and a good welfare in place. They do not even think of any bad incident could happen during playing like a player jersey got torn.

NFA should stop treating Nigeria players as if they are begger or they do not know who to do. Nigeria is lucky to have abundant players who always rise up to the occasion, but we do not know how to manage them. There is a say that goes "People don't appreciate what they have until they lose it" , i know this will not happen in Nigeria if we continue the way we are.

Dear NFA, I am writting you this letter on behalf of all the Nigeria soccer fans because things keep on getting ugly and ugly with the Super Falcons. The team were only issued one set of jerseys, they have not received any allowances, and neither bonuses paid to them. These is like sending troops to Liberia without enough ammunition. When they run out with what ever they had, they will all die. There is a saying that say "follow my lead, I supply all you need." NFA when and what time is there going to be a change to the welfare issues of Nigeria soccer players. NFA as an organisation and staffs shame on you guys for not being able to come out with a solution to the welfare of Nigeria soccer players. Talking about hiring a foreign coach as if that we do any good. NFA staffs from the top to the bottom, you are all fire, sack, and dismiss immedately for not being able to do your job. NFA Gold diggers, looking for fortune to them self.
