Grasshoppers talk tough
IMO Grasshoppers Handball club of Owerri, are doing everything possible to regain their lost glory in the sport that made them the country’s No.1 position, almost making them ‘invisible’ to other teams in the 1980s - the mid-90s; and to achieve the feat of resurgence, Grasshoppers have vowed to win this year’s Malta Guinness Handball Championship starting in Ilorin, Kwara state on Saturday September 18th. Ihiram Chukwu, chief coach of Grasshoppers told nigeriasports.com in Lagos Friday that they would put in their very best effort to claim the title and regain their No.1 position in the country. He noted that the Grasshoppers last won the title two years ago and said; “this time we’re are ready to take it to where it belongs.”
“We are not going to underrate any team because now handball is developing in every states but we will use our experience as an old team in this game and also know what it takes to win a Championship of this magnitude,” Chukwu told nigeriasports.com
