AWC 2004: Update from Falcons camp

The early callers to camp are Goalkeeper Maris Ighalo of Delta Queens of Asaba, Dorcas Ariba, Ayi Yusuf, Ulunma Jerome, Bunmi Kayode, Cynthia Uwak, Ijeoma Obi, Onome Ebi, Rachel Asabor, Lawrenta Sogoe, Chioma Ajagba, Adaku Erengwa, Bola Sani and Otasowe Esomoghene.

Welfare officer of the team, Ann Chiejine told nigeriasports.com on Sunday night that they expect a full house by Tuesday morning since the girls who returned from Athens were given one week to rest.

“The girls are coming in trickles, but there is no problem with that. You know the camp opened on Sunday and we had thirteen players. By Monday we will have even more.”

NFA board member and chairman of the Female Football Develpoment Committee, Ayo Omidiran told nigeriasports.com that Coach Mabo has been relieved of his duties and Godwin Izilien who is also coach of the national male U-17 side will take the Falcons to South Africa.

“Izilien will be assisted by Dan Evumena and Coach Lizzy” Omidiran told nigeriasports.com.
