NFA rescues Agali in France![]() This was revealed by Agali himself in an interview with Nigeriasports.com’s Ralph Chidozie George, we serve you the full interview…
Agali: Actually it’s been okay, I think I am fine with my family I am having fun and enjoying my career. Nigeriasports.com: Rejoining your family in France, will it give you the needed boost to deliver the goals? Agali: Actually, is just a feeling a real different feeling unlike when I was in Germany just playing alone and having to leave alone but now am with my family it gives me a real different feeling and its kind of hard to explain but it makes me feel good. Nigeriasports.com: In France we have john Utaka, Wilson Oruma, Ogbeche and couple of other unknown Nigerians how would it be playing against them? Agali: I have not played against anyone of them in the league because I just played my first match last weekend but it will be great having to play against one of them in the coming weeks I know it will be different but it will be good to see Oruma and say hello to him and others but actually now I have not played against anyone of them because the league just started. Nigeriasports.com: Tell us about the match you played. How would you rate your performance? Agali: It was the third game of the season against Marseille and we were at home but the team started badly, we lost the first two games of the season but it was a game we were to win but it was an amazing game because Marseille was very good and they are on top of the table but we managed to hang on to a draw and just one point to consolidate our position and tried to come out of the position we are. Nigeriasports.com: The French league compared to German league your last base, which one will you prefer if you have a choice? Agali: I think it is too early to say now because before I moved to Germany I didn’t actually play much in French first division but I have played six years in Germany but this is just the first match I will be playing in the French first division so is really difficult to say which one is tougher and which one is better and which is more favourable for me but I hope in the near future I can really say which one I prefer most and which I think is tougher.
Nigeriasports.com: Alright, victor at the national level has the NFA been in touch with you since you forgave them from the incident of Tunisia? Agali: Actually, I have not had any contact with the NFA the only contact I had with the NFA was a kind of letter from them to the French federation introducing me as an international player for a long time and that permits me to play in the French Ligue 1. Nigeriasports.com: How did you feel when that letter came from Nigeria football Association? Agali: It feels good because to play in the French league you must have played in the national team before you qualify to play in the French first League and the letter from the NFA at that stage made me to play against Marseille, which is quite co-operative because the paper came early in enough to allow me play on my debut. Nigeriasports.com: Now Nigeria is preparing for the match against Zimbabwe, are you disappointed that they have not reached out to you, to call you for any match since the Nations cup? Agali: No, no, I am not disappointed there is no reason to be disappointed, in Nigeria we have so many good players and is an opportunity for other players to also have a chance and serve the country too. So am not disappointed, whenever any player is called upon to play, he should just leave up to expectation, so I don’t think there is something to be disappointed of. I have played for the national, I know what it entails but now I am not looking forward to playing for the national team, I must concentrate on my club side because I just signed a new contract and I am just coming back from injury so I’ll try to play less matches and try to travel less so I need the concentration with the club and I need my time after each game so I can recover fully. Nigeriasports.com: So if you are called upon in our next match after the match against Zimbabwe what will your answer be? Agali: I am just recovering from injury for about four months and I just played my first match and travelling after matches, I think is too early for my health, I’m trying to put my health into consideration and I really need some time to really play more matches and get my fitness one hundred percent full may be if there is a call in due course then I can consider. Agali: (laughs) ahhm…message? What message now………..? I want them to keep their fingers crossed for we will always qualify for the world cup, irrespective of our position now we will always pick the ticket, irrespective of the players that are picked to play for us, I want Nigerians to support them, if 18 players qualify, and it’s for the whole country. If am not involved or any other player is not important, the most important thing is the nation qualifying. Nigeriasports.com: Thank you very much Victor for talking to us. Agali: Thank you so much.
