Onikeke Now Fatai the DYNAMITE!

Come September 17, 2004 there will be an international Commonwealth title ring grudge in Nigeria. Tazanian \Mutumtha Hassan would be in Ilorin Kwara State of Nigeria to attempt to undo the Nigerian Commonwealth Welterweight title holder, Fatai Onikeke. Onikeke won the title via a unanimous decision over an old foe and compatriot, Semmy Clay from whom he also picked the national crown.

Onikeke was to face Ghanaian Ossei Duran for the Commonwealth title bout but, the Ghanaian has since moved up to the super welterweight class and won both Commonwealth and the WBU titles

Though sponsored by the Kwara State Government, the fight, tagged: “FIGHT OF THE HARMONY CITY”, is being packaged by Freels & Threels Promotions. While Onikeke and his camp have been given royal blessings by the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Sulu Gambari, Dr. Raufu Ladipo, President-General of the Nigerian Football & other sports Supporters Association has extended his inspirational hand of support to the Nigerian pugilist

To realize his dream in his chosen field, Ladipo said both open and close camps would be initiated in Ilorin and Lagos respectively He said the programme would be well monitored and tailored to ensure that he keeps the title because according to him, the battle for a world crown has just begun.
