NNPC enter Junior Tennis Ciircuit

Tennis development in the country has recieved a strong backing from Nigeria's Oil gaints, (NNPC) The Nigeria National petroleum corporation. The company agreed to sponsor a National Junior tennis Circuit and ranking system. Dr Livy Ajuonoma NNPC's head of corporate affairs who announced the corporation's involvement in junior tennis development in the country at the Finals of this year edition of the Prime Interface Junior championship, also used the opportinuty to unveil the secretariat for the organisation of the circuit and ranking at the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club Onikan, Lagos.

Dr Ajuonoma stated that NNPC's involvement in the circuit was to evolve a tennis culture in the country.He believes Nigeria has the to make her a great tennis country." What theses young lads need is the desired support and encouragement to actualize their dreams". He said their involved ment in the ITA circuit would change the face of tennis in the country.

He also used the occassion to call on other corporate bodies to get involved in sports sponsorship so that the country youths could re-direct their excess energy into production engagements. The Circuit will iniatially be played in two zones north and south, however players from other zones of the country can participate. President of the nigeria Tennis Federation, Sani Ndanusa who was present at the unveiling assured the project would recieve the full back of the Federation.
