I thought I would make it to the final and win; but I must admit that Jan is a good player and today, he deserves to win.” Irwin Richards, of Great Britain had a tough match against New Zealander Thompson Adam. Richards dropped the first set 5-7, but went ahead to win the second at 6-1 easily. Leading 4-1 in the third set, he sprained a muscle and retired.
