Kamala wishes Falcons well in Athens![]() Kamala, speaking with nigeriasports.com said the Nigerian female national team are good enough to do Nigeria and Africa proud at the Olympics but they just need a little encouragement from the country’s football ruling body. “The players in camp are no raw materials; they are established players and all they need is to play together as a team, but I do not think the N.F.A shows love and care to the team.” “No matter how bad the team might be, they are still the same set of people that bring up the name of Nigeria in football anywhere in the world and as far as I am concerned, the Falcons should be shown more love and attention. Remember we are all girls and we should not be expected to play this game for life and need something to fall back to after all this trouble.”
“I am a student athlete in Clayton College & State University. And I am majoring in Health Care Management. Life has been very wonderful for me over here in the states.” Chime took time to lambast a section of the Nigerian Press who some time ago went awash with reports that she had quit football and was over weight. “Some of you or some of your press said that I don't play active soccer anymore and sincerely I don't know where they got that from.” “If I don't play soccer here in the states, how do they think I pay for my tuitions? My school pays that for me because I am on athletes’ scholarship so I have to keep playing to secure my scholarship.” “If the Press in Nigeria were reasonable enough they would have understood that there is no way I can be in school without playing and also how do they expect me to pay my tuitions without soccer? So I laugh at those set of people who are so interested in spoiling my name. I really feel sorry for them.” Return to the Falcons not on the cards Kamala would not commit herself into revealing if she would make a return to the Falcons soon as she described that issue as a different ball game entirely. “A lot of times I have been invited verbally and after taking permission from school, they go ahead and tell me not to bother about coming any more.” “That is totally unprofessional. The problem with the NFA is that they fail to understand that we are in school over here and are not paying our tuition so when they want us to come they should also write a standard letters requesting for us.” Chime told nigeriasports.com that the difference between America and Africa is simply that they respect their athletes and they feel African countries respect theirs too. “Really, I wish the Falcons all the best and it does not matter whether I am invited to the team or not. I am content with what I have and where I am today and I pray that every one of them have their dream come true after football.” “I miss Nigeria and I am looking forward to coming home soon.” Judith Chime played for the Falcons for more than five years but in almost all of that period she was under the shadows of Ann Chiejine who was the preferred choice of the coaches who handled the team. She is best remembered for coming in for Ann in that 1999 World Cup quarter final match against Brazil when the Falcons were 3-0 down and though she had a good outing helping the Falcons to tie at 3-3, her mistake let Brazilian Sisi’s free kick go in to give the Brazilian ladies a 4-3 win.
