Fasuba on top

Olusoji Fasuba
Fast rising sprinter, Olusoji Fasuba defeated all comers on Thursday in the Africa athletics championship to win the men’s 100 metres in 10.21secs. Nigeriasports.com can report

Fasuba placed third at the Nigeria trials last week, coming behind Tamunosiki and Deji Aliu.

"It feels really good and I am looking forward to better days at the Olympics."

The 20-year-old travelled to Congo after finishing what he described as disappointing third place in the trials.

“I think I still have a lot to do before Athens. The timing is a bit encouraging but I feel I can do better.

It was a double victory for Nigeria in the 100m as Endurance Ojokolo continued her blistering form to pick the first spot in the Women's 100 metres.

The Nigerian contingents are expected back in their Stuttgart camp next week.
