Interface set to change face of Tennis

The Prince Interface Junior Tennis championship billed for 2 August is aimed at discovering and nurturing talents.

According to the CEO of Pan Interface, Ayo Akinmade the decision to sponsor the tourney stemmed from his passion for the game.

“I was watching this year’s Wimbledon in England and I discovered that all the top players were relatively young blooded.

“They also hinted that they started the game at a young age and I was touched by their stories and felt we could do similar things to identify and encourage the upcoming players in the country,” Akinmade confided in Nigeriasports.com

The tourney is open to players between the ages of 8-16 and the President of the Lagos Lawn Tennis Club; Muyiwa Omisade has called for other sponsors to emulate Interface.

“The Nigerian investor or sponsors want instant success and are not ready to invest in the developmental aspect of the game but short term dividends.

“Sponsors should come to the aid of Tennis. Discovering and catching them young is the best way of making a potential world champion,” Omisade told Nigeriasports.com
