AFN names Olympic squad

The Athletics Federation of Nigeria has released the list of Athletets that will represent the country at the summer Olympics in Greece. Uduak Ekah and Doris Jacob did not qualify for their individual events, based on Olympic A standards or AFN standards and they were dropped in the sprint relays for acts of gross indiscipline. Based on the Olympic A standard and AFN standards, Tamunosoki Atorudibo and Saul
Weigopwa have qualified to participate in their individual events.  Deji Aliu and Endurance Ojokolo have previously qualified for individual 100m

And what about Angela Atede who ran 12.80m on 100m hurdles this season ? Wasn't she included in the list ?

WHAT ABOUT UCHENNA EMEDOLU AND MARY ONYEALI WHO DID NOT ATTEND THE JUST CONCLUDED MOBIL TRACK AND FIELD. ARE THERE GOING FOR THE OLYMPICS. CHUKWUEMEKA.

Such things can only happen in Nigeria....AFN even have there own standard shame, shame, shame!!!! It's very, very unfortunate and pathetic that we are still in a barbaric stage...Can't you see other countrries like u.s.a Germany, Britain etc...As long as you have made the standard all you have to do is be in the top 3 in your events at your national trial simple as that....

POINT OF CORRECTION:
You don't even have to compete in the national trials, if you've made the cut, that's it!!! you're in!
and all this talk about some VETO power { " my minister said..." Dan Ngerem on Mercy Nku and Doris Jacob..
that should never happen, there should be constituted authority deciding matters affecting not only Athletics Nigeria but our Sports in general!!!
And hey Okorie, in an earlier thread you seemed to be strongly opined that Deji Aliu hold some measure of reliability? oh no bub? as Wolverine would say in the X-men,... Uche Emedolu has been the person to fit that bill, maybe Fasuba and Atorubido may come of age...
