“The team is doing very well in camp. They have played three games and won all. But their biggest test will be against the German National team on the 24th of this month.”

“We are doing well. The players are very much motivated to do the nation proud and have responded positively to the new handler. In the three games we have played, they have really displayed a hunger to win. In their first game they won by as many as 9-0.All of them are eager to play the Germans to show how fit they are for the Olympics”

Also speaking from Germany, the Camp Commandant CSP Gideon Akinshola who joined the team last week said the mood of the players in their Ambrosini Hotel Camp in Germany is infectious.

Akinshola said: “Since I arrived here, I’ve noticed that the players are all very well comfortable and focused on their assignment. The security is perfect and I am sure they will translate this into victory when it matters”.

The German National team defeated Sweden by the golden goal to win the 2003 FIFA Women’s World Cup and currently boast some of the best players in the world.
