Avre, Ajayi lead Falcons team B against Senegal

Avre returns to the Falcons team
Veteran Falcons attacker, Patience Avre topped the list of eighteen players scheduled to leave Nigeria on Thursday ahead of Sunday’s African Women Championships qualifying match against Senegal, nigeriasports.com reports.

Patience Avre, who has played in three World Cups and the same number of African Women Championships was dropped from the Super Falcons team shortly after the first the first Olympic Games qualifier against Ghana in January 2004.

Other notable players who made the team are Kikelomo Ajayi who was dropped from the Super Falcons in Germany after it was uncovered that the NFA did not register her for the Olympic Games.

Coach confident in his side

Chief Coach, Godwin Izilien told nigeriasports.com on Wednesday that he is positive his team will overcome the Senegalese on Sunday.

“We will give out a brilliant performance because the expectations from Nigerians are high. Nigerians should also be hopeful because we need element of luck”

on the two players who joined the squad from the German Camp of the Falcons, Coach Izilien says they returned to join their friends and blending will not be a problem.
The team moved to the Lagos State Airport Hotel on Wednesday morning where they will stay until Thursday when they leave for Dakar.

although this team are home based squad and they are always refers to as team 'B'.I have believe in them and come sunday ,senegal will fall right in their backyard
