Athens 2004: Update from Falcons German camp

The Technical Assistant joined the team as soon as they arrived Germany a fortnight ago but nigeriasports.com can exclusively reveal that the Technical Assistant known as Fred is not there on full time basis as he only shows up two to three times a week.

Also OB of Denmark striker, Stella Godwin who was left back in Nigeria because the Germany embassy refused her visa has joined the team in Germany.

Stella Godwin joined the team in Stuttgart on Sunday night and has resumed training with her colleagues.

Thrash German club 8-0

On Sunday the Super Falcons played a friendly match against German Club, TSV Kleinglattbach and thrashed the German team 8-0.

Goals were scored by Vera Okolo scoring (4), Pepetua Nkwocha (2) while Nkechi Egbe and Ajuma Ameh got one each.

In the second half of the match every other player in the team, Precious Dede, Cele Onyeka, Gloria Usieta, Blessing Igbojionu and Gift Otuwe were introduced into the game.

Nigerian assistant joins team

Another Nigerian coach has joined the team in Stuttgart to make members of the technical Crew there five.

The team previously had Chief Coach, Ismaila Mabo, assistant Coaches, Dan Evumena and Joy Etim while the German Technical Assistant; Fred joined the team in Sttutgart.

Manu Garba was recently sacked as Technical Adviser of Gombe United of Gombe and joined the team in Germany on Monday.

Kike, Uwak return

Two Super Falcons players, Kikelomo Ajayi and Cynthia Uwak have returned from Germany and have resumed training with the Falcons Team B ahead of next Sundays African Women Championship Qualifying match against Senegal in Dakar.

The players were not registered to play in the Olympics.

Kike Ajayi told nigeriasports.com that she was now looking forward to the game against Senegal.

“What would I do? When we got to Germany, they told me I was not registered for the Olympics.”

The team still has two major friendly matches against the German National team and the Greek National team.
