NFA to come down hard on randy Coaches

Nkiru Okwara, Falconets keeper
NFA board member and Chairman of the female football development Committee, Alhaja Ayo Omidiran says the FA will not lie low on the allegations of sexual harassment levelled against the Chief Coach of the National U-19 team, Felix Ibe.

Ayo Omidiran told nigeriasports.com that she had heard the allegations and was at the moment waiting on four witnesses who claim they were sexually harassed by the Coach to testify.

“I have always been on the forefront of the fight to flush out male coaches who look at women as fringe benefits,” Omidiran told nigeriasports.com.

“I have received the names of some girls who say the coach asked them to have sex with him and I have told them to come forward and testify to since that is the only way I can be sure the reports I have received are not just based on hear say.”

The NFA board member insists that no name will be revealed to the press and the investigations will be treated with utmost secrecy.

“It’s a very private matter and I will never divulge the names of the girls involved. All I want is to know the truth so that we quickly nip it in the bud.”

“You just wait and see what the FA will do if we prove the allegations. I have three daughters of my own and I know how it feels to hear your daughters are treated in that way. I want parents to feel at ease when their daughters are in camp and that is why I am so eager to meet these girls and get some straight facts on this issue.”

Omidiran insists she will deal with and flush out any coach found guilty of sexually harassing players in any of the female national teams.

I will like the NFA and the minister for sports take this matter very seriouly. The culprit should be ban from coaching and even taken to court for abusing his players. This will serve as a deterant to others. Our women need to be encouraged to play the sport not discouraged, nigeria is bless with talented ladies, we need to help them develop in the game. They are not sex objects. Luke, london
