Yobe spike to Semi Finals![]() The Yobe Boys who came third last year in the maiden edition of the championship have shown a lot of improvement since the commencement of the game on Sunday to convince the bookmakers that they have a mission to host and win. At the Damaturu Sports Complex, Yobe State on Sunday, the team defeated local rivals Borno3-2, thrashed Kaduna 3-1 and humbled the defending Champions, NAF Rockers of Abuja on Monday to book a semi final ticket for Friday. Even though, they still have one match left to play the preliminary rounds of Group A, the Yobe team is looking forward to the finals. It would be recalled that Yobe Spikers who made their first debuted in any known volleyball competition last year at the same venue came third, but since the story has changed as they continue to wax stronger. Delta in a Victorious mood despite the armed robbery attack they encountered on their way to the venue of the 2nd edition of Governor Abba Bukar Ibrahim Open Volleyball Championship. Delta Force of Asaba yesterday at the Damaturu Sports Complex, Yobe State defeated Oyo State female counterparts 3-0. Delta Force parading tested hands like Shilla Athekame, Christy Amadi, Priscillia Agera, Sera and others won a three straight set against the green horns from the Oluyole City to show that their predicament would not make them to abandone the game know how to play best. In another match of the day, Plateau State female volleyball team who missed the first edition of the competition due a botched continental assignment in Cotonou, Benin Republic defeated the FCT girls in a straight jacket match which saw the Abuja Spikers showing no sign of resistance at all.
