I am not guilty, U-19 Coach reacts

National Female U-19 Coach, Felix Ibe has reacted strongly to allegations that he sexually harassed his players at the NIS camp of the national team, nigeriasports.com can exclusively report.

A surprised coach told nigeriasports.com via the telephone today that he is very surprised such stories are making the rounds because they are just figments of the imaginations of mischievous players.

“Really I don’t know where you got your story because it just cannot be true.” Felix Ibe-Ukwu told nigeriasports.com

“I am a very godly man, I have never done such and will never do it.” He insisted.

“I am an African man with a family, so such a thing cannot be conceived by me, how much more me doing it.”

Gabowski told nigeriasports.com that most of the girls who left the team came to him for advice before leaving so he believed the rumours must have been emanating from mischief makers who just want to ruin him.

Meanwhile, NFA board member, Ayo Omidiran says she will investigate the matter and flush out any guilty party.

“I never knew a thing like this was going on or else I would have acted on it because I am there to protect the girls. Besides, if this is true, parents may not let their kids take part in female football any more.”

Omidiran says she would go straight to Lagos and look into the matter to ascertain the veracity of the claims.

“If I can get just one girl to testify to that, then of course the coach will have to go, and if I can get names of girls who have been dropped for refusing to defile themselves, they would be recalled to the team to prove themselves.”

My comments on this issue is about Felix attitude towards Nigeria's female team, he has to be very careful about how he harrass Nigeria's female quarde with his sexuality act in the camp.Meanwhile, this is inevitable ,how can somebody who called himselve a leaned and a family man, misunderrate himselve,I mean, it is madness. To add with, we need some aid of convinction to proved all these, before going further, because these story is a fabulous one.And another thing is that , if this kind of a thing will continue, you know that we will no longer have a male coach to be our female coach.Because, a female coach cannot ask a female player for such a thing.
So my saying to this, is that, we have to do some thing in order to stop this mase.
This is all I have to say about this.
Thanks Yours Son Nnadozie Nwaneri.Imo State, Nigeria.

In a country like Nigeria where corruption and intimidation is the order of day, one cannot rule out the fact that the coach might have committed this heinous act, there are many coaches in Nigeria like Ibe even in local league who can mortgage their reputation in order to survive by seeking favour from players and their mentors,I am imploring the NFA or the appropriate authorities to please get to the root of this sex scandal and save the future of the players or should we allow posterity to judge......

It is the duty of the NFA to investigate this pathetic story to ascertain the truth once and for all. The coach, if found guilty, must not go unpunished ! Simply releiving him of his plum job will not be sufficient, advocates for women abuse and molestation should equally intervene.
