Dolphin hold crises meeting

Dolphin Sampson Uborgu
Following their 3-1 loss to Elkanemi of Maiduguri, players and officials of league leaders, Dolphin of Port Harcourt have held a crises meeting at the Kaduna base to discuss the fortunes of the club, which have dipped in recent times, nigeriasports.com can exclusively report.

Barely six weeks ago Dolphin were 12 points clear at the top, but have had their lead cut down to just 2 points, but Technical Adviser of the Club, Musa Abdulahi has downplayed reports of a crises in the side.

“There is no cause for alarm as these things are normal in football. The Maiduguri game was a bad one for us, because apart from the fact that a lot of our regulars could not feature, our goalkeeper, Smart Justin had a disastrous start to the game and we were soon three goals down.”

Musa Abdulahi told nigeriasports.com that the referee unjustly disallowed two beautiful goals scored by Dolphin in the match that could have tied the game at 3-3.

“After Victor Ezeji pulled one back for us in the 60th minute it was dolphin all the way and we actually equalised.”

Efosa, Yobo sacked

The Musa Abdulahi led Technical Crew of Dolphin on Monday decided to decamp winger, Efosa Eguakun and defensive midfielder, Edwin Yobo for indiscipline which they feel may be inimical to the progress of the side.

“Efosa Eguakun’s antics have shown he is not ready to be a footballer, maybe we should give him some time to think about his career, if he really wants to be a footballer.”

The players were given two days off after their game against Julius Berger to go back to Port Harcourt, but both Efosa did not show up until two days after their away loss to Elkanemi.

“Efosa stayed away for ten days and that is bad. We have to send him away so the other players know we are serious about this thing” Chief Coach Philip Boamah said to nigeriasports.com.

For Edwin Yobo, immediate Elder brother of Joseph Yobo, it has been a  case of lack of commitment.

“Some times he fails to understand that he cannot for ever continue to live under the shadows of his younger brother,” Musa Abdulahi said.

“He has all it takes to be one of the best defensive midfielders in the country but he would not keep his head down.”

Charges against Yobo ranged from a lack of commitment to a carefree life style that included indulging so much in women that he even brings them along to the training sessions.

“I wouldn’t mind so much if he brings women to the training sessions with him , but he has not played a single game for us since the season began and he does not care.”

At the end of the meeting, the other players pleaded with the Technical Crew to forgive the erring players, but they were adamant since the decision had been taken.

Why is it that people doesn't take things serious! I believed that if you are being put in a good position, and happened to misused the opportunity, you shouldn't be given another chance, because you think that it is easy for someone to get himselve in such position. My contribution to this, is that what ever some one is doing for his country he is not doing it only for that his country but for himselver and God, because, if you are serving your country with a clean mind, the reward is out for you.So , in what ever you are doing don't think that you are doing it for somebody, just feel that you are doing it for yourselve okey.
Thanks till next time.
