Nku assures all

Mercy Nku
Nigeria track sensation Mercy Nku is confident of winning a gold medal for the country at this summers Athens Olympic Games billed for Greece. Nigeriasports.com can reveal.

Nku, whose suspension was recently lifted by the Sports Minister Musa Mohammed, relish another opportunity of donning the colours of Nigeria.

“First of all I’m happy that my ban has been lifted, at least it gives me a chance to be part of the team that will represent the country in Athens.

I have had a great season on the track and hopefully I will translate this for Nigeria at the Olympics. I believe with hard work and focus nothing is unattainable. I am capable of picking a gold medal if I can mantain my recent form.

“The Athens game is another platform I’ve been praying and waiting for, so I thank God at least I have been given another opportunity to prove my self again,” she said.

Nku told Nigeriasports.com that she would be in the country for the Mobil Track event, which is part of the Athens trials as well.

“I will be in Abuja for the trials and I know I will make the standard set by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) “she concluded.
