Tornadoes players threaten boycott

Players of Niger Tornadoes football Club of Minna have decided to boycott this weekend’s Globacom League Match against Lobi Stars, if the management fails to pay them part of their outstanding salaries.

Speaking with nigeriasports.com, a source close to the team disclosed that the players are very bitter over the ill-treatement and lackadaisical attitude of the club management since the beginning of the league season.

According to him, the players are yet to collect any match bonus or salary of sort since March 2004.

Aside from that the management is yet to settle part of last season outstanding bills.

“The players are in bad mood now that they don’t want to play this weekend match and I can’t blame them because they have been playing with an empty stomach so I pray the management listen to them this time, he said.
